The Big House 10

The Big House is the largest annual Smash Bros. tournament series in the Midwest. Since 2011, this tournament, held in Detroit, Michigan, has been the go-to annual convention for Smash fans.

Super Smash Bros. is a fighting game, known for its prolific crossovers of Nintendo franchises with its first instalment in 1999. The Big House (TBH) has deep roots in the Smash Bros. community, which stems back from the first Big House tournament held in 2011. The Big House has a long established brand, both historically and by reputation, with its affiliation to the University of Michigan and the TBH stadium itself.

For the customized graphics of the event, the tournament organizer wanted to refresh and update the look for TBH 10, while keeping close to the origins of the event. As the design lead, our team created an end result that had a much more streamlined visual style, consisting of bold shapes and prominent colors, while still retaining the varsity aesthetic.
